Monday, July 4th, 2005 - Lis Anna has yet again moved up in the International Screenwriting Awards as a finalist with her screenplay BANKERS. But right on her heels is Ed Tasca with his screenplay MIND OF GOD, which has also moved up to the quarterfinals... NECK AND NECK...But don't look now, here comes Brenda Ray, also advancing to the quarterfinals with GWILL OF MY DREAMS and her short THE PAPER BOY. Sweating bullets here guys! Good Luck to you all! Dr. Charmaine Saunders has been quite busy as well, with two offers for publishing from CPN Publishers in London as well as Open Book Press of US and Canada. If CPN sounds familiar to you, that's because our own Alison Williams has been doing cover artwork for them for their books/novels. She's also been kept quite busy with teaching an evening class in self-esteem and is now the LOVE EXPERT at Cleo Magazine on their website. David Lourie, Creator of DHARMA THE CAT is currently entertaining several offers for DHARMA to jump off the print pages and onto the television screen, one of which is from DLT Distributors. DHARMA is currently printed in 26 countries, and now 17 languages as it has just been translated in THAI. You can check Dharma out at www.dharmathecat.com. His screenplay ANIMAL INSTINCT has moved up in both Feeding Frenzy and Scriptapzlooza competitions as well as TRADING SPACES in Scriptapzlooza. | Saturday, July 2nd, 2005 - Movie Magic is being made for screenwriter PHILIP DAAY, who seems to have set a record for one of the fastest turnarounds from Option to Production with his screenplay LEFT IN DARKNESS. The Option was officially announced April 20th, 2005 and went into production with Stephen Cannell Studios DBA SOUL EATERS PRODUCTIONS, Inc. June 20th, 2005. Philip will be spending much of the 3-week production time on set in California and will be sending back pictures to share for the Delphinius Photo Album. Congrats Philip! We love you!! |

Saturday, March 5th, 2005 - AMERICAN SCREENWRITING COMPETITION ANNOUNCES ITS 2004 FINALISTS Flat Shoe Entertainment and Hollywood Scriptwriter Magazine would like to congratulate all of the talented writers who entered this years competition. We received an overwhelming number of entries displaying an impressive depth of skill and quality. These scripts will now enter the final phase of competition where they will be read and scored once again by industry professionals. We anticipate this process will be completed by late March. Wednesday, December 29th, 2004 - OPEN CALL FOR 12 YEAR OLD MALE SINGERS Delphinius Talent Management has been commissioned by a very large and reputable film company and recording label to search for a 12 year old Male vocalist with exceptional talent and range to perform a title track for an upcoming movie as well as for a recording contract deal. The ideal candidate and their family must either reside in or be willing to relocate to New York or Los Angeles and be available to perform live venues across the country. Submissions must be received no later than February 1, 2005 for consideration. Submissions must include one head shot and one full body shot, a resume/bio of performances/training, a CD containing no less than 3 of your best songs, preferably one of each category- ballad, show tune, and up-tempo. We also need a signed letter from a parent or guardian granting us permission to review and share your submission with the film company and recording label. Sunday, September 5th, 2004 - Congrats goes out to Philip Daay whose screenplay, "Project: Elysium," has advanced to the Semi-Finals in the Nicholl Fellowships's Screenwriting competition. There were 6,073 entries. Of those, 323 advanced to the Quarterfinals and 132 advanced to Semifinals. Effectively, "Project: Elysium" is now in the top 2.2%!!! Way to go, Philip! |

They'll have a table there in Artist Alley, selling copies of their comic books The Sorcerer's Children and their brand new title (for the 1st time ever) The Adventures of Astrodog! Feel free to pass this news on to anyone in case they happen to be in Toronto this weekend. A. Jaye will also be showing a 30 minute comic book documentary he filmed with Long Shot Pictures called "The Canadian Comic Book Connection" Friday, Aug, 27, 8 PM only at the convention. |

The first week of July, she also got news of another book sale, HARBOR OF THE HEART, to Synerge Books and the greenlight for CONSUMED WITH PASSION, an anthology of short romances and recipes which she'll pen with her husband, Mark Webb, and which will debut this fall.
