Ricky and Gracie make a bet. Ricky and his boy friends think teaching
Craig to send animal kingdom mating signals can get their new long-term
sub a life-time companion with three desparate female teacher prospects

Craig falls for Fairalynn. When her failed marriages are discovered,
she falls from grace ( in the eyes of her former students). Craig winds

Day Dance. And finally, a child's simple observations on love and Craig's
first experience with a heart-felt relationship, enable him to finish

BUT...IT'S TRADITION

Genre - Family Comedy
Length - Feature
Logline - An ultra-frugal accountant
must pay for his eldest daughter's wedding to a Mexican pig farmer whilst
surviving a "brujera" curse put upon his beloved head of hair.
Synopsis - Poor Ernesto Lopez! Why
wasn't this cheap-skate accountant born into a Jehovah's Witness family
where holidays and birthdays are not celebrated?
Instead, in a short period of time, this penny-pinching father of five,
must pay for a tuba which his daughter Blanca wants---even though there
are no tubas in Mariachi bands; braces for Catalina ( who he insists
does not have an obvious over-bite); a Quincianera for Maria ( who feels
a sense of entitlement, being the second daughter in the family); a
birthday for his chubby little son Pepe; and last, but not least, a
ridiculously expensive Catholic wedding for his daughter, Lora, who
is marrying a peasant pig farmer from Mexico,Juan.
Ernesto devises a plan to keep expenses in check, which includes having
his wife, Polita, who yearns to be a more Americanized woman, do all
the cooking for the reception. Only, he does not know, for the past
several years, Polita has been feeding him packaged Mexican food, which
eventually ruins Ernesto's theory that it is his wife's homemade Mexican
food that keeps his hair so thick and black.
When the finances get tough, Ernesto approaches Lora's padrinos, Maxmio
and Carlotta, ( wanna-be forty-something gangsters) who agree to help
pay for the wedding expenses if Ernesto will set-up their gangster son,
Julio, with Ernesto’s daughter, Maria.
When Ernesto refuses the "deal", Maximo and Carlotta go to a bruja (witch),
who puts a curse on Ernesto's beloved head of hair just weeks before
the wedding.
The curse begins to work, and Ernesto’s hair starts to fall out and
turn white.
Ernesto soon discovers Polita cooking pre-packaged Mexican food and
blames her for his hair loss. It is Nachita, Ernesto's mother, who convinces
him that a curse has been put on him.
Ernesto goes with his mother to a good witch, who says she can counter
the curse, if Ernesto will wear an outlandish cruz de caravaca, red
underwear, shorts, and socks for two weeks; this means Ernesto will
have to look like an idiot at his daughter's wedding.
To add to the turmoil, Lora's fiance's ( Juan) long lost mother, Isabelle
shows up just before the wedding and Ernesto, whose heart begins to
soften, invites his daughter’s dear friend, Pati, to join the family
for a double wedding.
In the end, Ernesto decides that his financial investment is worth every
memory that will be cherished from such a grand occasion, realizes his
daughter's happiness is worth every hair on his head, and can't wait

his ship. In the light of this new development, Zana is more than happy
to sell out her crewmen again until she stumbles across a startling

her! Faced with betrayal on all sides, will Zana turn the key on the
ship’s salvation – or its doom?
20. MID-LIFE
CRISIS
Author - Jay Woelfel
Genre - Dark, High-Concept Comedy
Length - Feature
Logline - Eddie Lazarus is nervous
about turning forty, but when he discovers that every male member of
his family has been murdered when they turn forty, he becomes hysterical.
He travels to the home of his ancestors, a strange backwater town, to
try to find the reason he was born to die in time to survive.
Synopsis - Eddie Lazarus has the
basic American Gothic family; a psychotically bitter ex-wife and an
eighteen-year-old son who assures him the police can only get him for
possession and not for sales...
But Eddie is essentially an optimist, who feels life is pretty good.
Forty isn't a bad age. Unless of course, you're going to be murdered.
Who wouldn't have a Mid-life Crisis?
It starts when Sheriff Law and Doctor Ma, two small town hicks, come
to his office with his great grandfather Ezra's head in a shoebox. He
was murdered the day he turned forty. In fact, every Lazarus male since
Ezra, has been killed on their 40th. Since the day after tomorrow is
Eddie’s birthday, they thought he'd like to know.
He doesn’t believe them at first, until an possible but unsuccessful
murder attempt, that very day, slows his trip home. Traveling through
stages of panic and denial, he decides to go with Law and Ma to Bellsville,
the small town that his family originated from. E.T. has been playing
there since it opened in 1982 and that's the most normal thing about
the town.
There are a number of local suspects that could be out to kill Eddie,
for instance, a motorcycle gang who party with the local witches' coven.
There is the even more suspicious local group who call
themselves The People For Moral Decency who are fanatically campaigning
to have cable television banned from their town.
Luckily Eddie brought along his best friend, Fragman Dave, to protect
him. Fragman is a Vietnam vet and as long as he isn't making Eddie watch
Platoon, he'll protect him with his life.
Research into his past confirms Eddie’s worst fears. Kids in town actually
dress up as some of the dead relatives for Halloween. "Awful lookin'
things." Sheriff Law explains, "You see he was stabbed, shot, set on
fire, and hurled off a cliff."
The only good thing is a nice-looking local woman, named June, seems
to be attracted to Eddie. Too bad the continuing attacks on his life
get in the way of a nice quiet dinner with her.
Then suddenly buddy and protector, Fragman Dave, disappears.
Eddie’s birthday dawns on a bright, beautiful Sunday. It's his last
day on earth and his first thought is to go to church. His second thought
is to get drunk, but they don't sell beer in Bellsville on Sundays.
Will Eddie discover the identity of the killer in time? Will he have
time left to make it with June?
